There is a sure way through. By Ellen White

In Luke 21 Jesus foretold what was to come for Jerusalem. At the same time he was describing what will happen at the end of the world's history, just before the Son of man comes in the "clouds of heaven" with power and great splendor. Notice the words: 'Beware, then, and do not let the rush of debauchery overwhelm you, or the anxieties of life, lest that day come upon you suddenly like a trap snapping shut. For he will come upon all the inhabitants of the earth. Be vigilant and keep praying so that you may have the strength to escape whatever is about to happen and so that you may face the Son of man with confidence.« (Luke 21,34:36-XNUMX NEW)

This warning goes to professed Christians. Anyone who has knowledge of the important decision-making teachings of today and yet does not prepare for the coming of the Son of Man ignores this warning. "Be careful, then, and don't let yourself be caught up in the frenzy of excess, or caught up in life's worries, lest that day come upon you suddenly!" There has never been an excuse for spiritual inertia.

Only those clothed in the robe of Jesus' righteousness can escape the judgments that are coming upon the earth. Let's not forget that these words are among the last words that Jesus gave to his disciples. This call should appear frequently in our newspapers and publications. Material that is a hundred times less important should also take up less space. These sacred, grave warnings are the alarm bells. Church members and worldlings alike need this warning; for it is present truth. – Counsel to Writers and Editors, 23-24.

The approaching doom

John saw with his own eyes the terrible events that will herald the coming of Jesus. He saw armies marching up for battle and people fainting with fear (Luke 21,26:XNUMX). He saw the earth being moved out of place, mountains being pushed into the sea, whose waves were raging. He saw the vials of wrath poured out and pestilence, famine, and death overtake the inhabitants of the earth. – Review and Herald, January 11, 1887.

Already God's moderating Spirit is slowly withdrawing from the world. Hurricanes, hurricanes, storms, fires and floods, disasters on land and water follow one another in rapid succession. Science tries to explain this. The signs intensify and announce the approach of the Son of God. All possible causes are mentioned, just not the real one. People do not realize that the guardian angels only hold the four winds until God's servants are sealed. When God then commands his angels to let go of the winds, the world will be transformed into a scene of strife that no pen can describe. – Testimonials 6, 407; see. testimonials 6, 406.

Unimaginable for everyone

We stand on the threshold of great and serious events. The prophecy is about to be fulfilled quickly. The Lord is at the door. Soon we will enter a time of overwhelming interest to all beings. The issues of the past will revive; new issues will arise. What will happen in our world far exceeds all previous fantasies. Satan works through human instruments. Those trying to change the constitution and pass legislation mandating Sunday celebration have no idea where this will lead. We are on the brink of a crisis. But God's servants need not rely on themselves in this great time of need... The course of events to come is in the hands of the LORD. The majesty of heaven personally controls the destiny of nations as well as the affairs of the church. – Testimonials 5, 753; see. testimonials 5, 785.

Victory is promised to us

The important future is now dawning. It will take great faith, energy, and perseverance to endure their trials and temptations, to accomplish their tasks. But we can experience a glorious triumph. Not a single soul waiting, watching, praying and believing will fall for the tricks of the enemy. All of heaven is interested in our well-being and waits for us to request its wisdom and power. – Review and Herald, 1. July 1884.

In the imminent time of trial, God promises security to all who have "kept his word of patience" (Revelation 3,10:XNUMX). – Review and Herald, January 11, 1887.

Very urgent!

Jesus' return to this world is not long in coming. That should be the leitmotif of every message. – Testimonials 6, 405; see. testimonials 6, 404.

If the curtain could be drawn back, if you could see God's purposes and the judgments that will come upon our doomed world, and if you could see your own point of view, you would tremble with fear for your souls and the souls of your fellow men. Earnest prayers would rise to heaven with heartfelt supplications. You would weep "between the court and the altar" and confess your spiritual blindness and backsliding. – Testimonials 6, 408; see. testimonials 6, 407.

Time for solid food

The day is already too advanced for "milk feeding." If souls who are in truth for a month or two and are on the verge of the unprecedented tribulation, cannot hear plain truth or endure the solid food of the straight path, how will they stand on the day of battle? Truths that have taken us years to know will be known in a few months by those who accept the third angel's message today.

At that time we had to patiently seek the revelation of the truth, gathering rays of light here and there, striving and begging God to reveal the truth to us. But now the truth is clear, their rays are focused. The bright light of truth, when properly presented, becomes visible and works on hearts. Once souls are convinced of the truth, milk is no longer needed. Once you open yourself fully to the truth and the heart is ready, the truth will work. Like leaven it will work, washing out the passions of the natural heart and purifying the character. It is a shame when believers who have been in the truth for years say that souls who have only been in the truth a few months still need "milk." It shows that they hardly understand how the Spirit of the Lord leads and that they have not realized the time we live in. Whoever accepts the truth today can only make rapid progress. The heart may be broken before the LORD; hearts must be torn, not clothes. – 1854 – Manuscript release 1, 33
