We can very well do something about it. By Ellen White

“I don't even want to look at evil and mean things. I hate breaking God's commandments, I don't want anything to do with that. I do not want to give room to bad thoughts and keep myself away from all evil.« (Psalm 101,3:4-XNUMX NL)

You have reason to be very concerned about your children. You face temptation at every turn. While they cannot avoid contact with bad company... They will see images, hear sounds and be exposed to morally corrosive influences. But if they are not carefully guarded, their hearts will be subtly but surely corrupted and their characters deformed.

Some fathers and mothers don't care at all. They carelessly think it doesn't matter whether their children go to a public school or a community school. "We're just in the world," they say, "we can't escape it." But, dear parents, we can remove ourselves quite a bit from the world if we want to. We can avoid many evil images that are increasing so rapidly in recent times.

For the active minds of children and young people, the images in virtual future worlds are reality. When revolutions are predicted and other law-breaking and disinhibiting events are described, many take in the spirit of these images. They are led to commit even worse crimes than those portrayed by the sensationalist authors. Such influences degrade morality in our society. The seeds of lawlessness are being broadcast everywhere. Don't be surprised if crime increases as a result.

Make up your mind: “I will not spend my valuable time reading [or looking at pictures and films] that will not help me and only make me unfit for service to others. I want to devote my time and thoughts to training for God's service. I will close my eyes from carelessness and sin. My ears belong to the LORD. That's why I don't even listen to the enemy's sophisticated arguments. In no way will my voice bow to a will that is not under the influence of God's Spirit. My body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, and every faculty of my being shall be dedicated to worthy ends.”

Maranatha, 145
